Yavneh girls, Mums, alumnae and other community members were blown away by two outstanding talks given by Gila Manolson and Beatie Deutsch.
Gila spoke candidly about Tzniut equating it with self esteem. With some entertaining anecdotes she was able to drive home a powerful message..Gila the author of the best selling 'the magic touch, inside/outside' to name a few, has a refreshing attitude to these all important issues. She left us with a feeling of wanting to hear more of her wisdom. Beatie took us on her journey from her dream of becoming a marathon runner to the fulfillment of that dream. Despite challenges along the way Beatie saw each bump in the road as a means to learn something from, to invite Hashem into her life every step of the way. As the new face for and Adidas advert she states 'where some see an orthodox runner, I see my belief pushing me forward'. It is with this outlook that Beatie has inspired thousands through her talks and social media platform.

As part of the Bat Mitzvah program, year 7 went to Stene court to make challas. The girls learnt the reasons why we separate challa and had the opportunity to fulfil the mitzva. They had loads of fun creating different shaped artisan challas which will be enjoyed when they take them home after the Bat Mitzvah evening. The girls checked eggs for blood spots, learnt how to check lettuce and strawberries for bugs and were able to eat those that they checked personally. In addition to the challas that they made for themselves, they made a large batch of challas which were donated to GIFT. Mrs Perez and Mrs Hoffner took part in the event.
